LG has produced a little gem (103.5 × 54.4 ×14.8 mm) with the LG U990 Viewty (sometimes also known just as the KU990) - a highly intuitive mobile phone with outstanding camera capabilities easy navigation and operation and many additional excellent features. These include on-screen editing and drawing MPEG4/Avi file playback tactile feedback tight mobile Google applications with YouTube integration and high-speed data transfer. The front screen is a large (3-inch) 400 x 240 pixel touchscreen; there is an impressive 100 MB plus a microSD memory card slot extendable up to 2 GB. It weighs 112 g but you are getting a large number of toys in the box so a little pocket drop is understandable. The highlight though is the 5.1 megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuzenach optics Xenon Flash manual/autofocus modes image stabilzer ISO800 SmartLight face tracking and high speed 120 frames per second video recording capability. Shooting options include autofocus panorama burst shots (9 fps) and a frame shot. Moreover the save speed is fast: conventional cameraphones take between five and 10 seconds between the click of the picture being taken and when it appears on screen. The sleek black LG Viewty does this almost before you can say cheese a second time - within two seconds. A circle around the camera lens is actually a Jog Dial. You use it to (digitally) zoom in and out in camera mode or to focus the camera in manual focus mode. It doubles as a volume control when you are talking on the phone and a scroll wheel to scroll through music tracks. In video camera mode in addition to shooting VGA resolution clips at 30 fps the Viewty also allows you to take pictures in 120 fps fast video recording mode and then play video in slow motion at up to 15 fps. LG Viewty also has a dedicated microphone to capture sound during video recording. As a multimedia device in addition to all traditional formats (MP3 AAC 3GP and others) the LG U990 Viewty has the media player that supports MPEG4/Divx video file playback so you can watch downloaded clips TV shows and movies on your phone. It incorporates Immersion's VibeTonz technology so the problem of "tactile feedback" that plagued early touchscreen devices is more or less solved: nice one LG.
